Hard to believe Thanksgiving is upon us again.

Not surprisingly, days on market for owner-occupied single family homes in Ada County is up (but is holding steady at 68 for new construction). Median and Average home prices are down, but it's not a huge drop.

In our judgement, it's still important to compare these numbers NOT with the past few year's statistics but with numbers from the years preceding Boise's real estate boom.



Yes, it's true that if you bought a home between 2006 and today and are trying to sell (especially if you're trying to sell in a hurry), you are probably mourning the value of your home. But if like most homeowners you've been in your home for at least seven years, you've seen it appreciate at a healthy rate.
